Why are Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor tight-lipped about their shaadi?

A little bit of common sense and understanding of Bollywood is enough to know why the couple has been so hush-hush about the big day, but we have an insider’s revelation to confirm our speculations

Unlike in Hindi filmi love stories, there have been no villains in Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s real life prem kahaani. Five years of courtship was pretty smooth sailing before the day of getting officially hitched. Yet, the beautiful twosome – who has always been vocal about their love, affection and admiration for each other – zipped their lips when it came to their wedding.

The couple’s ‘no comment’ stance caused so much confusion and commotion that at one point we just wanted it to be over and done with. And with all evidence in place now we know that Saifeena will have a registered marriage in Mumbai, followed by a reception party in Delhi.

So why have Saif and Kareena been so reticent about their marriage? “Bebo was extremely particular to keep the wedding plans under wraps,” says our khufiya khabri. It turns out that the Heroine had fallen for the age-old myth that female actors lose their position and hold in B-world post marriage.

In fact, she’s been so particular in this instance that once it even became a sore point between Bebo and her beau. KK says, “Saif spoke about the wedding and was immediately pulled up by Kareena. She’s believed to have asked him why he was talking about the wedding when he knew she had an important film coming up (Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela). Though the argument didn’t last too long, Bebo made her point.”

Since hottie Heroine’s already lost out on the big film – Deepika Padukone has replaced her in Bhansali’s love saga – maybe at least now she can break her silence on the shaadi. C’mon Kareena, tell us more!
